Steak and Mushroom Pie

Wow, winter is truly coming huh!? Cold, Wet and pretty damn miserable am I right?! I do truly love autumn/winter, but the dark mornings are making getting up much harder. This pie is so incredibly warming, perfect for those cold evenings!

Ingredients

250ml water

1 tbsp Worcester sauce

1 tsp miso paste

1 onion, sliced

2 garlic cloves, grated

1 beef stock cube

400g diced beef

Puff Pastry

 

Method

Gently fry the onion in some olive oil until soft. Add the garlic and fry for 30 seconds, stirring constantly. Add in the diced beef and let this brown on both sides (don’t worry you don’t need it to be completely cooked. Add the Worcester sauce, the beef stock and the miso paste and stir together with 200ml of the water. Pop in the oven (if your saucepan can) or transfer to a baking tray and pop in the oven with some foil on the top for 40 minutes.

Remove from the oven and transfer to a new baking tray. Add 50ml of water and drape the pastry over the tray. Cut any off if you need to. Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes.

Serve with some lovely crispy potatoes!
