Restaurants: April

It has been ridiculously long since my last blog post, I guess life just got in the way! But I am back. Starting with this post about great restaurants I enjoyed way back in April!

All fantastic suggestions and worth a try. Promise.

 Dirty Bones

Various Locations

I needed to try this place out to test its food and vibe, before a hen do I am responsible for! We went with a mission – try the meat, try the veggie option and test the vibe. And holy smokes was it everything we wanted it to be! The cocktails: perfection, The food: divine, The DJ: fantastic, The service: impeccable! I highly recommend this place is great and I cannot wait to go there for the hen do.

We ordered:

Buffalo Aubergine (one of the best things I’ve eaten, agreed by my complete meat eater boyfriend so, that says everything!)

Cheeseburger Dumplings

Crispy Fried Chicken

The Classic (burger)

Classic Fries

Cheesy Truffle Fries

ALL SO GOOD. The cocktails were bloody great also.

Go, just go.

The Black Labrador

Underbarrow LA8 8HQ

A trip up north to the boyfriends home, meant a trip for dinner with his bestie and girlfriend. Sometimes you can’t beat a pub dinner and this one was seriously good, not to mention great value.

I enjoyed mussels in white wine to start, with a gorgeous piece of garlicky sourdough, followed by their fancy steak option served with garlic butter (you know I love garlic ok!), topped with prawns! To finish, I had one of my all-time favourite puddings – sticky toffee pudding!! YUM.

Bleeker Burger

Various Locations

Desperate to finish my Time Out Burger Box vouchers, Bleeker Burger was up next. We went to the one in Spitalfields – and for quick fast food burgers, I’d see this was pretty damn good!

I went for house fries with a cheeseburger – so simple, but so good and pretty fair prices also!

Hai Cenato

2 Sir Simon Milton Square, Westminster, London SW1E 5DJ

Headed here for dinner with my besties for a catch up. I’ve been before and it’s a kind of fancy Franco Manca, but it is really nice. I love a white pizza over a tomato pizza any day, so I went for the Confit lamb neck, spiced aubergine, ras el hanout, yoghurt & mint and it was really great! It was fairly pricey but tasty nonetheless!

Mac & Wild

Various Locations (We went to the City branch)

Another Time Out Burger Box voucher meal and another great one at that! We went here after a training workshop for our personal training course and needed this food big time! The vibe was really cool in there, we went early so it wasn’t too busy but I reckon it would have been great at prime time! Downstairs seemed to be the bar area and that looked pretty busy and fun! The lady seating us to our table was particular unfriendly, however the service did pick up and we had a great waiter who was so nice and dancing away to the music!

We ate Mac and cheese to share both with the venison burger and fries! Simple dinner but really tasty. Steaks are their speciality, and I reckon they would have been great. The onlyyyy thing I would say is the food came CRAZY quick! Like SECONDS after we ordered. I hating waiting around for food, but equally I go to dinner for the restaurant experience and feeling like we were being pushed out in under 45 minutes wasn’t great….

But perhaps we were unlucky with our day and time, and the food really was great!

See you next month!

A xxx
