It’s time for the usual monthly round up of where I have eaten in this last month!
As it happens, I have’t actually eaten out much this month! Most unlike me I know, but hopefully this inspires some of you anyway!
I’ll be honest, I’m not usually a Pizza Express fan, but my sister and I fancied something simple and easy before heading to the cinema (which by the way still did not stop me purchasing popcorn afterwards…) so picked pizza. But I will say say two things; 1. They have an amazing vegan/gluten free menu which is great and 2. The new Cabonara Pizza is seriously good. Go. Try. Enjoy!

So, after having pizza on a Thursday night, the next day I arranged to meet my dad for lunch who… fancied pizza! So we headed to DelFino’s which has been around for 55 years and is an ultimate classic. Pizza’s cooked in a wood fired oven and yummmm yummy wine it’s a really great place to eat. Surrounded by business people I couldn’t really take a picture … but PLEASE take my word for it and go!
I ate the Caprina (Tomato, a little mozzarella, goat’s cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, pesto & pine kernels (v)).
This is a burger chain with just under 30 branches around the UK. It’s quite simple, only a few burgers on the menu, but I quite like that as it means what they do have is good! We both went for the special on the menu, which was the Buffalo Chicken which is described as the following: A crispy fried chicken burger with free-range buttermilk fried chicken, bacon, Frank’s RedHot buffalo sauce, blue cheese mayo, pickles, lettuce. And it really was great. Served with rosemary fries which were fantastic! I really recommend a visit.

I don’t think I can actually describe this restaurant and do it justice but if you take anything away from this post, let it be this: GO TO VIVAT BACCHUS. Everything here is seriously good. The mains are outstanding:
I had a steak with truffle fries (don’t normally have steak but really fancied it and it was brill).
Last time, I went for the Open Steak Sandwich – 125g Surrey Hills aged sirloin steak, caramelised onions, tomatoes, wild rocket, American mustard, sourdough
Both – were truly amazing.
BUT this is not the main event. The main event is the CHEESE ROOM – yep you read that right. Best experience of my life. You basically enter a room filled with cheese and try a load and then they make up cheese plate for you (SO FREAKING GOOD)!!!!
I hope you try some of these places and if you do, let me know!
Love, A, x
